I don't know if I am reading your post correctly, but if you are stating that AVG will not do a good job of protecting from incoming threats I totally disagree. It is an overall better program than any "paid" version of antivirus that I have ever run across.

While I agree everyone need some kind of antivirus software I don't agree with the fact that avg will only scan for viruses already on your computer. I would perfer to use a security product that blocks viruses before your infected. BluePoint Security is what I recommend.
